First thought on a Sunday morning

This is just insane for someone like me. First thing on a Sunday morning, what would be your first thought?

- What time is it?
- Am I late for something?
- Never mind, just sleep again...
- ???

Well I don't know for you but this is what happened to me on a delightful Sunday morning. I have thought of food!!! Can you believe it??? My first thought was food but not any type of food!!! I was craving for PORK!!!

P-O-R-K = PORK!!!

To tell you the truth, I haven't eaten pork for a very long time. I think it's more than one month or two. Well I think that I've eaten pork chop but personally it's not a real pork! What do I mean by that? Pork chop is being hammered by the cook and just fry it or just the pork chop that they buy the one that is factory made and just fry it! No no no!!! I hate that!!! Especially the factory made! It's called a fake pork chop! Anyway I don't really like to eat pork chop! Why? Because the real pork itself, the meat is tender and when you put it in your mouth, you can feel the fat, the meat and it's so.... Hmmm... Delicioussss!!! :D Do you get what I mean? Well only Pork lovers will understand what I'm talking about here!

I've read somewhere "No Pork, No Life!" Well somehow I've realized that it's kind of true. At first I was thinking, "huh! The person who wrote that has no life, just desperate for pork!" But now!!! Hehe... Actually I get what the person means by writing this. Pork really brings a kind of meaning in a life of a Chinese. Chinese are fond of Pork and they will eat it with everything. Pork brings taste in the life of Chinese community. That's the way to say it. I think that Chinese is the first race on earth to ever eat pork, because you can see all sorts of dishes with pork made by Chinese. Don't you think so?

I think that last time that I've eaten a real pork dish was back in Mauritius. It's called Moy Choy Niouk. In my family, I'm the only one who is the most fond of it and my mum knows it very well. (Mum, I hope you're reading this!!!) I tried to find on internet and in Mandarin it's called "Mui Choy Kau Yoke." It's one of the famous Hakka food in Mauritius. If you have no idea how does it look like, here it is:

Delcious!!!

A closer look at the delicious and juicy pork!!! Yummy!!!

It's very nice to see and sense it but unfortunately there's no smell that comes out from the pictures and I can't take it to put it in my mouth and to chew the tender and juicy meat and feel it!!! :'( It really make me feel like missing home now.

Anyway the thing about Malaysia is that there's not a lot of pork around in my area. If I buy pork in Giant, I must go to the Non Halal section. Well in Mauritius, we don't have such thing and in this Non-Halal Section, there's not so much choices of pork. But the thing about Malaysia is there's a type of food which is very famous for its pork! People say that it's originated from Klang! Yeah for some of you who have guessed it already, it's not other than the...

BAK KUT TEH!!!

Well it's not that bad to live in Malaysia after all. But I just to find the right people and the right place to eat all those delicious herbal pork soup! So what are you waiting for? Can you get it? I'm waiting for you to bring me and buy me a Bak Kut Teh??? You think that I just post this just to make you feel good about it? I'm not promoting or whatever, I want to eat PORK!!!

P-O-R-K = PORK!!!

A day of a new beginning!

Yesterday I went to church like any other weekends. This time it was not a usual weekend. My life started to transform and it's a day of a new beginning. I've never experienced such thing before. It was so powerful and indescribable literally. Sunday is not a usual day for me to go to church. I usually go on Saturdays but this Sunday I went because I really couldn't make it and I missed my cell members at that time. But I think God has a reason for me to go on a Sunday.

Throughout the beginning of the service, I keep thinking of my hometown, my church and my youth ministry there, which I don't know why at this particular time only I think of such things. When I was in the van on the way to church, I didn't have a single thought about it. It all started the service started.

Pastor Kevin was preaching on Unleashing Your Potential. It was indeed a very good peaching. While I was listening to it, it seems that every word that is being said, it is directly related to me. I felt like God was talking to me directly! Even during the preaching, I don't know why I'm having this thought about my church back home and about the youths there. Every time when Pastor was stating out his point, a new revelation started to come to me! Suddenly the dream that I had before I come to Malaysia started to rise up! This is dream is, deep inside of me, I just want to go back to Mauritius after my studies and bless my land. God revealed me that I should do Psychology in Malaysia. I didn't know why but I just obeyed as I know God has a plan for me.

Back to the preaching. The greatest tragedy in life is not failure but failing to see the potential on the inside of us - that one dare not even try! This is how the preaching started and while listening this reveal me something. In the past I used to be a failure, a failure in my studies. I was really weak in my studies in my secondary school. I would fail and repeat the class again. The greatest failure for me was my A Levels. A lot of people don't know about it, but now you know it. I was really depressed of this failure. I had a choice, either to repeat or find a work, but to find a work it's very difficult if I don't have a minimum of A Levels. My parents were putting the pressure of me. So I went to think, and I felt like fasting and praying for 1 week. After 1 week of fasting, God started to reveal to me that I should go to Malaysia. Then here I am in Malaysia, God has given me another chance to prove myself worth. I was trying to go through shortcuts of doing a degree directly but it was impossible for me, no matter how I try to get out of it. God wanted to build my character, especially in my studies. So I did the foundation in UCSI and I don't regret it.

Since I started my degree after my foundation, I joined choir ministry and I started to get lots of responsibilities in cell group. I'm kind of being promoted in my cell group. From arranging the transportation for my cell members, I do more than this now. I prepare the bulletin for our cell group every week and I do games and warmth time. For me it's a very challenging thing for me because I've never done the cell group bulletin before. It was Edi who was doing it and the job was passed to me. I had to use my creativity and originality to make this bulletin better than Edi's. So I started to do something new. Now each of the bulletin that I design is different from week to week and it's getting better and better.

So Pastor was also sharing that our Potential is realized within God's appointed leaders. Hendra is my cell leader and Kristy is my subzone leader. I learned a lot of things from them. They taught me and I obeyed them. If I want to prosper and have the anointing of God to keep increasing in my life, I have to position myself in the presence of God's anointed leaders and serve the man and woman of God with a pure heart! Until now I don't regret that I joined City Harvest Church and I have great leaders above me to serve them.

When the service is almost ending, God started to awake this dream that I have deep inside of me again. I started to feel different. Pastor then made an altar call to all those people who wanted to position themselves to unleash their potential. I wanted God to use my potential, all that I can do, I just wanted to do more than what I'm doing now. At the same time this big dream of my heart is bursting up! So I went forward for the altar call. Ok what I'm going to tell you is very freaky! So prepare your heart and get ready. Once I stepped forward I was paralyzed but at the same time I was trembling!!! Don't ask me how, I don't know how to explain that to you! I felt the Holy Spirit touch me from head to toe. It's like a mixture of hot and cold plus being electrocuted. Maybe that explained why I was paralyzed!!! Then pastor was praying for everyone when suddenly he stopped at me and gave me a word of prophesy. He said that since the beginning of the service that he felt that God is gonna use my potential and just to let Him to take control. From that time I couldn't hold myself and started to cry.

From that time the dream that I had came to me so true when Pastor prophesied on me. If since the beginning of the service he felt that, it means that God gonna use me back in Mauritius. But now it's only the beginning. Now I have new strength and I feel my potential unleashed and it's time to get ready to face new challenges ahead of me! This is just the beginning of the revival in me! :)

a day to the beach - part 1

Wohooo!!! Robin's at the Beach!!! :D

Who is this handsome young guy under the coconut tree at the beach?

Remember I went to Caudan Waterfront? See me previous post! Then I planned with Kayne and Irene to go to the beach since there's nothing interesting to go to the beach and go hiking. To go hiking we need to plan well, so the following day, which was a Saturday, we decided to go to the beach instead. We've called a bunch of other friends to join us as well because the more the merrier! :) Irene, Kayne and I took the bus at 10AM and it took us around 1hr from Port Louis to reach there.

AS ROBIN REACHED, GUESS WHAT IS THE FIRST THING THAT HE SPOTTED????

To our surprise, there were not so many people that day, which is good, the beach belonged to us! :D hehe... While doing some snapshots of the beach and some interesting things that you won't find in Malaysia, we were waiting for the other bunch of friends to join us. We did a lot of crazy snapshots that we even took picture of an innocent pigeon. (Hey pigeon, stop complaining, I'm making you famous throughout my blog to the whole world ok?)

A Proud Mauritian Pigeon doing catwalk! :p

I love ORANGINA!!!

ORANGINA LOVERS!!!
WE LOVE ORANGINA!!!

Irene, Kayne and Robin Vs. Our Shadow!!!

Soon after that Kenny and Fatino came and they brought us to the best place where there won't be a lot of people and get the beach for ourselves. Indeed we had to climb some rocks to reach there. As we reached there, the place was so beautiful. Some of us walked by the side of the water. The water was not so cold as it was supposed to be.

Just reached the best place of the beach! :D

I made this out of the Filao Seeds!!! :)

There's no such thing as a free lunch

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

This is very popular expression heard by many especially from adults. Do you all know what does this mean? It means whatever I give you, you shall give me back in return. I heard of this expression again yesterday during a conference in my church over here. Well actually for me it's partly true. Somehow I don't expect anything else when I treat somebody lunch or dinner apart from saying the magic word, "Thank You!"

Today I went to Caudan Waterfront to meet Kayne and Irene. I didn't know that I'll meet a bunch of our friends there too but it was great seeing them all. Soon we met Elsie, Irene's sister, there as she would join us for lunch. In the end there were only Kayne, Irene, Elsie and myself for lunch. We were quite struggling what to eat because there's nothing much special to eat in the food court of Caudan. Therefore we went to eat McDonald's, the only one in Mauritius, which I don't really like to eat there. I prefer KFC 100times more than the McDonald's in Mauritius. Anyway we went there and I treated them lunch. At first they thought that I was joking when I said that I'll treat them lunch but I really did buy them lunch and I didn't expect anything in return.

Some pictures of Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis

Actually treating people food is not very common in Mauritius, especially among the youths. But I learned this culture of treating people food in City Harvest Church. When you buy them food, you're showing love towards your friend. Sometimes it's true that friendship costs!!! Yes! It's the same as you're going on a date. If you don't have money to treat the other one, how can you go on a date? It's very shameful if you can't even afford a date, especially a first date. Money plays a big role in the lives of everybody. Money cannot buy love but it is a catalyst to increase the level of your love. Even the Bible says so in John 15:12-13, "Love one another as I love you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Laying down your life is a sacrifice, and a sacrifice costs!

I'm pretty blessed that I've treated my friends today but I love them all and I believe that they were pretty blessed as well. I hope that after reading this, you learn that the love of your friends cost and that it encourages you to reach out for more friends.

Tomorrow I'm planning to go out to the beach with some friends. Hehe... You know how to beach of Mauritius are! Yeah I will get tanned! :P haha

Now in Mauritius!

Hello people!

It's been quite long that I haven't blog. Well first of all the connection here is quite slow compared to KL. For those who don't know, I balik kampung already, means I went back to my hometown, which is Mauritius. Huh? HE'S BACK ALREADY AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW??? Yeah sorry it was quite last min also because my flight was not confirmed and then I didn't meet all of you, so I could tell to you all. I know that I've could have posted it on my blog as an announcement but I wanted to surprise my friends over here. Now that I've surprised them already, I'm telling you that I'm now in Mauritius. hehe...

On the first day the land of Mauritius, it was quite warm to my surprise. I thought that it would be colder as winter should be around this period. At the airport, I had to take my luggage and my guitar. I had my luggage except my guitar. WHERE IS IT??? I was getting worried, so I went to ask one of the guy who was in charge of the luggage. "Excuse me, is that all as luggage from the plane?" He replied, "Yes. What are you looking for?" "I'm looking for my guitar!" Then he pointed at the back. To my surprised it was just behind me and I didn't notice it. Anyway after that is the direction to the customs. I hate the customs because of what that "guy" did last year when I went back for holidays. Last year that "guy" opened my luggage any nothing else and took out everything out of it and he told me in a very rude way, "Sorry I have to do this, that's my job!" Then he took out everything out of it and guess what? I'm the one who has to put it back!!! Not only he was very rude but his attitude lead him a bad action. Anyway last year was last year, but this year I praise God that I had a very good custom who smiled and joked with me and he didn't have to check my luggage. :)

Alright here it goes everything that I've been doing so far. There's nothing special actually. I was hoping to take pictures but sometimes the situation doesn't allow. On my arrival, I hid for 2 days and finally made a very BIG surprise to my friends. I tried to play a prank on some people first. There was Wendy, my previous cell leader, I called her and pretended that I was still in Malaysia and she believed because she was not hearing properly on the phone. We talked for quite long and then I've talked to his brother Andy, a very good friend of mine. But he guessed that I was in Mauritius because it sounded suspicious for him. Haha!!! Well he's smarter than before! Actually I called him because I wanted to stay at his place to spend some time with him. The other person that I played a prank with is Kayne, a very good and faithful friend of mine. He's a guy somehow my twin brother. He's very passionate and loves guitar! On the day I arrived Mauritius, I saw him online, so I chatted with him and asked how is he, etc. Then he thought that I was still in Malaysia, so we talked about university stuffs and what are the facilities, etc. I've chatted with him for 3 days including the day I was about to meet him. hehe... I'm bad I know! :P

On Friday night, there was a Praise And Worship Night in St Paul's Church, my home church. Wendy and Kayne were there too. So I just went there as nothing happens and I wore my Tshirt "A Sight for Sore Eyes!" so that I appear to be blur! As I entered in the hall, Kayne saw me and he rushed to him and started to kick me because I didn't tell him that I was already in Mauritius by the time I chatted with him. :P hehe... Well a surprise is a surprise after all! :) The surprise succeeded and I met a lot of my friends there who I missed a lot. Most of them changed because they grew up so tall that I couldn't recognize some of them. But it was so good to meet them all. :)

Apart from that my parents and sister came back, I received a lot of gifts such as shirts, cash, my ATM card, and getting more stuffs. :) As my parents came back, I've terribly been blessed with food and lots of food everyday. My cousin who is a baker, baked some cakes for me. Wow!!! I tell you, Mauritius is my home and it's the paradise here already! :P hehe... Well I have been gaining weight but trying to appreciate the food and eat lightly. I said I will try but sometimes the food are too tempting to eat!!! Miam!!! :P hehe...

Well just to keep you all informed that I'm home. If there's anything, you can still message me on MSN or email me.

God bless you all!!!

Will be back in Malaysia in 2 weeks!!! So be good ok? If not, no gifts for u! :)

Mauritius - 40 Years of Independence

Mauritius
Our Country - Be proud of it!

Today is indeed a great day to remember! It is Mauritius' 40th of Independence Day. My country, my island, my nation. Yes indeed I'm a very patriotic person. At first I was not really patriotic but it's when I went overseas for studies, that's the time I become more concern about my own country.

For all of you who has never heard of Mauritius before. Well people check it out on Google. Please check out the pictures as well. You'll be overwhelmed by all these beautiful insight.

My last post was talking about my big dream. I don't tend to be Prime Minister of my country, although Mauritian will say that it sounds impossible for a Chinese to be PM in Mauritius. But it doesn't matter, if God calls me to be PM, then who can stop Him? Anyway my dream is not to be prime minister YET! Maybe it's coming soon.

I've been to church yesterday for our last day of conference with Pst Pat Mesiti. It was indeed a very good one. I was really blessed by what he shared to us all. He shared about 4 different kinds of T to live a prosperous life.

1. Talent
2. Time
3. Touch
4. Treasure

Today I've run through the MYC magazine and most of the articles inside was about from someone who can be an ordinary person to become an extraordinary one. Wow!!! Well last week it was the International Women Week (IWW) and I was truly encouraged by how women nowadays are rising up to have an equal right as man. I have this quote of mine that I said it during IWW, "We men, support women!" :) So in the MYC, there were a lot of women who started their job before they became famous. Well there were not only talking about women but men as well. It's so amazing to see that a lot of people who was just ordinary people and then turn out to be extraordinary people by being celebrities of nowadays. I'm pretty encouraged by this because they achieve their dreams from being an ordinary person to an extraordinary one.

Well today can be our independence day, but I would like to encourage you to pursue the dream of your heart. That's where you can make your country proud of you and that you should be proud to live in such a country. :)

NB: From now onwards I will put labels for each post :)
